I used to sail FD and trained with some 505's ...awesome little boats: the FD was upwind much faster in all conditions but downwind in a good blow the 505 shattered us to pieces ;)

It's better that 505 was not an olympic class, look at the FD, his developemnt was dead since it was out from olympic status, meantime the 505 it's in always in developement.505 it's a real monster class, I've got one and I think it's the best boat I've evere owned.I will never change it!!!
